The Barraquer Institute has a long and significant track record in relation to specialised Ophthalmology training, in 1993 it was awarded affiliation with the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and, thus, it became the Instituto Universitario Barraquer (Barraquer University Institute).
Its current teaching objectives are aligned with basic and clinical research into Ophthalmology, advanced training, scientific knowledge and information exchange and institutional collaboration in terms of research and teaching.
