Barcelona is a fascinating city and there are many things to see. Here is a list of some of Barcelona's most popular sights.
Barcelona is crazy for football - not a surprise, then Camp Nou is the biggest football stadium in Europe and home of the (or one of the best) football club(s) in the world: FC Barcelona with the famous Lionel Messi!
The FC Barcelona was founded in 1899 and is one of the richest clubs in the world. During the Franco Regime, the team of FC Barcelona became the embodiment of Catalan national identity - especially when they won against Franco's favourite Real Madrid.
The architect Francesc Mitjans designed this magnificent stadium, which was built in 1957. The construction of the stadium at this time was just possible because of the dedication and love of the fans which were willing to pay their annual subscription fees five years in advance.
This huge stadium seats 98,000 people and additionally space for 17,000 more people standing. Besides the impressive stadium, there is also a museum to be found, where visitors can see memorabilia of Barça and some trophies as well as sculptures and paintings. In the Fan Shop you can get your own piece of the successful Barcelona football club - jerseys, towels, shorts, balls, posters and much more.
If you are lucky and there is a match in the Camp Nou while you are in Barcelona, you should not miss this unique experience. Ticket prices start from 19€, depending on the kind of match and the choice of seat.
Apart from that you can also enjoy the "Camp Nou Experience", which is a guided tour through the stadium and you can also visit the museum. The price for this is 23 € for adults and 17 € for children from 6 to 17 years and for free under 6 years.
