Carrer d’Enric Granados is a street named after the famous Catalan composer Enrique Granados. It is located in the middle of left Eixample neighborhood, reaching down to the University of Barcelona from the Diagonal avenue in the north.
HISTORY: Enrique Granados (1867-1916) was a Catalonian pianist and composer, and also founder of the School of Barcelona. After he tragically passed away, the city of Barcelona wanted to honor him and his work by giving his name to this semi-pedestrian street in the middle of the left Eixample neighborhood.
ATMOSPHERE: The street of Enrique Granados is so quiet that on the first look it seems sleepy. After 10am the street wakes up when the cafeterias and shops opens their doors, and first visitors arrives by bike or foot. The street is almost a boulevard-like with palms and wide pedestrian streets on its sides. Once in a while you’ll see a car passing by, and that’s it.
