Excursions

SIERRA CALDERONA NATURAL PARK
Just 25km away from the city the famous natural park Sierra Calderona aka La Calderona is located. The 49km long mountain range is right between the provinces of Valencia and Castellò and especially because of its flora and fauna plus its precious ecological systems very worth seeing – particularly for people interested in nature.

SAGUNTO CASTLE
In northerly direction just around 30km away you will find the amazing Castle of Sagunto to provide a great excursion opportunity for the whole family. Sagunto Castle is extended to an area of almost one kilometer and historically of special value since it witnessed different civilizations living there such as Romans, Arabs, Christians and Visigoths, which is one of the reason way its remainings were declared a National Monument in 1931. The castle is divided into seven squares with a lot of interesting things to visit at each, i.e. Plaza Santa María which is the oldest part of the ancient building. Nice to know: the admission is free.

XÁTIVA
Xátiva is a small town at a distance of around 60km in southerly direction of Valencia City. With its typical, original atmosphere Xátiva gives a great impression of what life outside big cities in the Spanish South-East is like. Besides its many worth-seeing monuments the greatest attraction of the city is the Castle of Xávia, which was built to protect the town more than 1000 years ago. The castle contains remainings of all epochs of Spanish history such as old-iberian walls and is therefore a more than interesting and informative destination to travel to.
