With nearly 3 million habitants within its walls, Rome, the 'Eternal City', is famous all over the world for many of its emblematic monuments and artistic accomplishments: the Roman Empire, the Seven Hills, La Dolce Vita (sweet life), the Vatican City and the movie “Three Coins in the Fountain to mention just a few. The following areas describe the major areas in which our apartments are situated in the city. The Campo de' Fiori & Trevi area is the most centrally located.

Essential
: get on the dome and watch the most beautiful view of Rome
Famous for: The Sistine Chapel
In three words: Immense, sacred, unspeakable

Without a doubt a unique place- fascinating, mysterious, wonderful and majestic. Full of contradictions, history and art. Covering an incredibly small area, it contains some of the most extraordinary works of art in the world, the origins of Christianity and the famous dome of Rome.

HISTORY: The Vatican is the smallest state in the world, yet has a coin, a radio, a guard, a stamp and an own newspaper. 900 people live there and probably much more quantity of works of art, books, treasures of various kinds. The Basilica of St. Peter, the heart of the Christian world and the Vatican itself, stands out for its enormous size, with a complex architectural history, the result of subsequent buildings and legends of a mystical character. What remains unchanged throughout the centuries is its extraordinary charm, making it one of the most beautiful churches in the world.

AMBIENCE: The area is obviously dominated by the presence of a sacredness overflowing. The flow of tourists is unbroken at any time of year and everything around is made to serve them: shops, bars, restaurants, etc. Borgo Pio is in fact the renaissance zone just close to the Vatican walls. Still there are craft shops and the feel of the past is kept.

PLACES: Impossible to describe, nor enumerate the artistic heritage sights within. One thing is certain though : you can´t forget the immense timelessness of the St. Peter Basilica, with its 22 thousand square meters of extension, overlooking the majestic St. Peter Square. Its dome dominates Rome from any perspective, and is sung in the most poignant music.
The Vatican Museums are a fort full of so much treasures, that visiting everything at once is out of the question. You will need to choose a thematic path, according to the artist or topic you want to know about. Here are preserved some 70,000 works. Certainly, whatever the chosen route, no one leaves out the absolute masterpiece of the Vatican- The Sistine Chapel. The troubled and lonely work that shows Michelangelo absolute genius. He consecrated it, giving the world an immortal masterpiece of incomparable grandeur, telling us how God plays to create and destroy the universe.
Built as the tomb of Hadrian, the Castel Sant'Angelo dominates the Tiber since over 2000 years. Over the centuries it has changed in appearance and function countless times: the many metamorphoses of the building seem to be now part of the complicated maze of underground rooms, balconies, stairs and courtyards that make up the current structure of the castle, creating a complex place, full of symbolism and history.
