Florence city guide

Enjoy the city...

In the following links you will find our tips for your lovely Florence holidays: museums, children activities, tours and excursions.

Shopping

Florence is not only the capital of Renaissance art or museums it is also a shopping destination of all types: luxury boutiques, craft shops, antique stores and local markets.

In the centre you can find well known Italian & international fashion houses: Gucci, Prada, Furla, Armani, Ferragamo, Versace, Cavalli… The most elegant street is Via Tornabuoni, followed by Via Calzaiuoli. In Ponte Vecchio you’ll find the most famous jewellery stores.

Florence is known for its excellent artisan products including different materials like leather, wood, paper and silk.
In the centre there are the pintoresque markets of San Lorenzo & Sant’Ambrogio, both in the historical centre.
It is worth noting that Florence is an expensive city. It is better to take a good look around the city centre where you can find some cheaper prices (normal prices instead of ‘tourist prices’).
