Metro: Plaça del Centre / Les Corts / Maria Cristina / Palau Reial

Essentials: Shopping at the three large shopping centers

Famous for: The Camp Nou football stadium

In three words: Modern, local, peaceful

Les Corts neighborhood is located at the western half of Avinguda Diagonal street and it’s well communicated with public transportation. The area is one of the most important business districts in Barcelona and bustling during the days, but nice and calm when people heads home after their shifts. From this neighborhood you will find many good restaurants and hidden attractions.

HISTORY: Until the 19th century Les Corts was its own village next to Barcelona. In 1897 it was attached to Barcelona, and slowly begun to grow to be the Les Corts as we know it now. Once in the past an agricultural settlement has become an area for residents and business, featured with some of the most important shopping centers of Barcelona.

ATMOSPHERE: During the days Les Corts neighborhood is busy of business people and students of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, which is located at the area. At the nights Les Corts calms down - it is quiet and fairly safe. The neighborhood has plenty of green areas and gardens, as well as small unique squares, which makes it cozy.  Most recommendable of the gardens is Parc de Pedralbes located next to the Palau Reial de Pedralbes palace that was once a home for the Spanish royal family.

PLACES: The most famous attraction of Les Corts is definitely the Camp Nou football stadium. The stadium is home of the football team FC Barcelona, and has stood on its place since 1957. The Camp Nou stadium is possible to visit outside the games and it features also a museum. Parc de la Cervantes is known also as the Rose Garden.  The park is definitely worth visiting during the flowering season between May and July when up to 150.000 roses are on their heights.
