Amsterdam Oud-Zuid is newly modeled residental zone that is composed of 3 parts: Amsterdam-Zuid, Riverenbuurt and the famous neighborhood De Pijp, with various restaurants, bars and clubs with unique bohemian atmosphere. 'The Pipe' part has a very diverse population, with a lot of yuppies as well as foreign immigrants and students and it is really something to be seen and experienced from the first hand.

HISTORY: Oud-Zuid has emerged on the wetlands at the end of 19th century in a second Golden Age of Amsterdam. The borough, like it is today, was actually formed in 1998, therefore it is called 'the young' part of the city.

ATMOSPHERE: If you are searching for an apartment in Amsterdam that is close to the city center but still offers the ambiance of peace and quiet, this area is the prefect one for you. It is more peaceful and easygoing then the chaotic city center, but yet it has good transportation links to reach the sites that are not reachable on foot. Yet, the best idea is to rent a bike and to explore the city with its amazing canals and charming and unique streets.

PLACES: In this area there is a Victory square which is known because of the 'Skyscraper' - Amsterdam's 1st high-rise building. Do not miss the Amsterdam's Olympic stadium, which hosted Olympic games back in 1928. Also, you need to visit Martin Luther Kingpark where you can enjoy in the nature and, if you come there in August, you can visit De Parade, an outdoor theatre festival organized anually in the traditional Dutch way. Furthermore, in De Pijp, there is the Albert Cuypmarket, unique streetmarket where you can taste traditional raw herring or delicious fresh made stroopwafels.
