The Plaza Real is situated in the Gothic region of the city and was designed in the 19th century in a Neoclassical style. It is a well known and popular tourist attraction, especially at night, and it contains many restaurant as well as some of the cities most famous and prestigious nightclubs such as Sidecar, Jamboree and Karma.
Designed by Francesc Daniel Molina i Casamajó in the 19th century, the square is twinned with Plaza Garibaldi, in Mexico City. The lanterns there were designed by the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. The square is home to the Hotel Roma Reial and club.
