Puerto Banús

Puerto Banus is a luxurious area, between the sea and the mountains, the fourth more expensive port in the world (after Capri, Porto Cervo and Portofino). It has 915 berths for boats up to 50 meters in length with a maximum draft of six meters and 15 hectares are protected by breakwaters. In addition to the technical aspects is perhaps the most emblematic image of Marbella region.

HISTORY: Puerto Banus was inaugurated in 1970, with an opening ceremony that is still remembered for his grandiosity. 1700 attended personalities from European aristocracy, movie stars, artists, musicians, famous from all over the world. To name a few ones: the King Don Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia, Prince Ranieri of Monaco and Grace Kelly, Aga Khan, the film director Roman Polanski, Dr. Christian Barnard pioneer in heart transplants... From that moment, for its continuous growth, it became an engine for tourism, social and economic development of Marbella, becoming a center of great interest for leading nautical sports and luxury. It has obtained the Gold Medal of Merit and the prestigious National Tourist Gold Mercury International for its actions on economy and culture. About 4 million and half people annually visit Puerto Banús, and many of them choose Puerto Banus  apartments to stay in.
