The Born area is the fashionable area of Barcelona. Over few years this area, located between the Gothic Quarter, the sea and Ciutadella park, has rapidly become a the area to be with a fast pased & cosomopolitan atmosphere. 

HISTORY: Historically this area was divided into two parts, the Ribera and the Born. The latter has taken great importance up to the point that the whole area is now called the Born. Between the 13th and 15th centuries this area was the economic centre of Barcelona and maintains its prints from the past in some of its streets named after old professions / crafts. The flavour of this area is undoubtedly medieval which today is a mix of many posterior rebirths.   

ATMOSPHERE: Suspended amongst old stones and sophisticated lights, the Born breaths a surreal atmosphere, fruit of the harmonious coexistence of its important past and the future to come. Elegant, in effervescence: the Born is a series of art galleries, fashionable boutiques, crafts, bars, and restaurants with terraces. Since it has become the most fashionable area of Barcelona, living here is almost a status symbol. The apartments Born Barcelona are desired, even by Hollywood stars, for a stay in Barcelona.

PLACES: Unarguably one of the most beautiful churches in Barcelona:  the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Mar. In Calle Montcada there is the celebrated Picasso Museum, which holds more than 3,500 pieces of art. The Palau de la Música Catalana is an auditorium with modernist style architecture and a world heritage listed building by UNESCO. The Born Market is a modern iron structure where in 2002 medieval ruins were unexpectadly found underneath. And not forgetting the Ciutadella Park, the most famous park in Barcelona, known for its large pond & zoo.
