I was pleased to see that the Amstel apartment was exactly as it was depicted on the website: a very spacious, well lit and well decorated apartment. I would have liked to know however that the apartment was located in the same building as a lounge-bar, and that it can get noisy on weekends. Also, the cigarette-smoke of the bar downstairs did manage to creep up via the kitchen hut. Cleanliness of the place was also so-so, seeing as a basic cleaning gets done, so the apartment could use a good scrub down. All in all, my family and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Amstel. The apartment was very well equipped to relax and eat at home, and the Nespresso coffee machine was a wonderful surprise as we had fabulous coffee each morning. From the apartment, we were a 20-30 minute walk to La Rambla, which was nice as we were close enough to walk nearly everywhere, but far enough to be away from the tourists. Literally a 3 minute walk to the nearest Metro, on those days when you don't feel like walking. We loved coming home to our apartment each night, so that says a lot about the place. We were very happy with our stay!

We spent fabulous 13 nights in Barcelona at the Amstel apartment. The apartment was amazingly spacious, well equipped for relaxing, cooking, sleeping and just downright a joyful place to come back to every night.

Location of the apartment was perfect for walking and with a metro station so close by you certainly can't complain about that! Plenty of stores and restaurants in the neighborhood as well. We ate at Namaste an Indian restaurant across the street that was ver, very good. I also got my hair done at a salon called the Art studio across the street as well. We would come back in a heartbeat.

The staff at Habitat were very, very helpful and accommodating. We that them for all the efforts in making us comfortable.

Apartment was beautiful with nice design elements especially the lighting. Also, the neighborhood while active was still conducive to a restful night's sleep if that's the objective. The staff person from your organization who opened the apartment thoughtfully pointed out various features & systems operations.

Location

The Amstel apartment is located in Calle Villarroel, next to Av. Gran Via . This is the Eixample area, the elegant “expansion” to Barcelona built at the turn of the century to house the city’s upper-middle classes. It is now very much the centre of Barcelona, home to a host of architecturally important buildings and the city’s most exclusive shopping street, Passeig de Gracia (just 10 minutes from the apartment).

A 5-minute walk from the apartment takes you to the multi-cultural Raval area, originally one of the city’s no-go areas but now home to an impressive collection of exotic restaurants, fashionable bars , trendy boutiques and independent galleries. Barcelona’s modern art museum (MACBA) and contemporary culture centre (CCCB) are both located in the area.

The nearest metro station is only 50 metres from the apartment and connects you directly with Plaza Catalunya and Plaza España. There are also several bus routes nearby, serving Plaza Catalunya and Fira Barcelona while the bus to the airport also stops here. The surrounding area offers a good selection of restaurants and coffee bars, as well as many food shops. There is also a supermarket on the corner, a few metres away. The street is quiet at night.

Some distances from the apartment:

- Metro station (Urgell, line1): 50 metres

- Raval area: 300 metres

- Museum of Modern Art: 10 minutes walk

- Las Ramblas / Plaza Catalunya: 10 minutes walk

- Car Parking: just in front of the building
