The riad Dar Justo is situated in the heart of Marrakech’s Medina (old quarter), just a few steps from the souk and the famous Jemaa el-Fna plaza.
The restoration of the building, which dates from the 14th century, and the decoration are the work of the owner, visual artist Justo Almendros. His basic premise was to maintain the original character of the place without renouncing the comforts of modern life. As a result, the atmosphere is authentically Moroccan — wooden doors and furniture crafted by local artisans; walls finished in tadlak; terra cotta floors; a courtyard with a reflecting pool graced with palm and orange trees, bougainvillea and other lovely indigenous plants —, while the interior spaces and rooms are equipped with all the amenities and services of a 21st century hotel.
