The Catalonian capital has a number of beaches for those who want to sunbathe lazily or take a dip in the Mediterranean.
The closest beach to the centre is Barceloneta, 20 minutes walk from Paseo de Colón.
The least central beach, but also the nicest and quietest, is “Nova Mar Bella”. To get there take Line 4 (yellow) of the metro from Passieg de Gracia or Jaume I.
Between Barceloneta and Nova Mar Bella you’ll find a string of beaches catering to different tastes. San Sebastiŕn tends to fill up quickly with tourists, Nova Icŕria attracts a younger crowd and has very popular volleyball courts. , Bogatel and Mar Bella are more oriented to families. All the beaches have good amenities and bars with food, drinks and music.
